THE SCHATZI FOUNDATION is a non-for-profit,
501 (C) (3 ) charitable & educational organization deciated to acquiring, housing, training & then donating professionally trained & certified therapy dogs to those health care facilities and private individuals in need.
The need for therapy dogs has risen. Nursing homes, hospitals, mental health wards, schools, children's homes, assisted living centers & veterans are all in need for qualified, professionally trained & certified therapy dogs.
There is on going documented evidence testing to the wellness factor that a therapy dog has to a person. Studies have shown that a person holding or petting an animal will cause a lowering of blood pressure, the release of strain and tension, and can draw a person out from loneliness and depression, visits to the Dr. Are less often and the use of medication is less.
The Schatzi Foundation plans to raise the funds necessary to train & donate the dogs without cost to the recipient so that need, rather than income, determines who receives one of our certified therapy dogs.
